My dear fellow NTUSP alumni in North Amercia,
With deep sadness, I learned that Professor Wen-Yah Koo (顧文霞教授), one of the founding professors of NTUSP, passed away on June 12th, 2014 at age 98.
Although I did not have the opportunity to be taught ad guided by Professor Koo when I was at NTUSP, I experienced her love of NTUSP, her pride in all of us, and her encouragement to all of us, during last year’s NTUSPAA-NA reunion in Irvine, CA. I will always remember her and be proud as a member of the NTUSP.
Professor Koo specifically requested that no services or flowers. In honor of Professor Koo and her family’s wish and in lieu of service or flowers, donation can be made to NTUSPAA’s “Professor Koo Travel Fund”, NTUSP for scholarship, or a scholarship fund in her name. We will be working with NTUSP and NTUSPAA to establish the mechanism for donation and will communicate to you.
In memory of Professor Koo, her daughter requests that we could provide Professor Koo’s professional accomplishments so they can be compiled and be remembered. Please forward any of her professional accomplishment, as you are aware of, to me, at email tyl2523@gmail.com..
